The New Brighton Pier is a great place for strolling, fishing or watching the surfers. Nearby is the New Brighton Library, children's play areas, a paddling pool, shops and cafes. The original New Brighton Pier, built in 1894, stood on the same site as the present pier. When the original pier was threatened with demolition in 1963 a group of residents formed the Pier and Foreshore Society to try to save it. They were unsuccessful and the pier was demolished in 1964. On 1 November 1997, the new pier was officially opened. It was the culmination of more than 30 years work by the Pier and Foreshore Society. Canning Dock Liverpool

Canning Dock is a dock, on the River Mersey,LIVERPOOL England, and part of the Port of Liverpool. It is situated in the southern dock system, connected to Salthouse Dock to the south and Canning Half Tide Dock to the west. The Canning Graving Docks are accessed from the dock. The dock was opened in 1737 as a protected tidal basin providing an entrance to Old Dock. Having been subsequently enclosed as a wet dock three years earlier, in 1832 it was officially named after the Liverpool MP, George Canning. To the east is the site of Old Dock, built in 1709, which was the world first enclosed commercial dock. Canning Dock would have initially served ships involved in the trans Atlantic slave trade. Access to the northern half of the dock system was via Georges Dock, George's Basin and into Princes Dock. In 1899, both Georges Basin and George's Dock were filled in and the site is now the Pier Head. Along with the Albert Dock and others in the immediate vicinity, Canning Dock was abandoned as a commercial shipping facility in 1972 due to the rising cost of dredging and falling numbers in traffic. It was restored in the 1980s and provides access to the Canning Graving Docks, which are part of the Merseyside Maritime Museum. LIVERPOOL CITY CENTRE 2012. Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower

The Clock Tower is a landmark in Hong Kong. It is located on the southern shore of Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. It is the only remnant of the original site of the former Kowloon Station on the Kowloon-Canton Railway. Officially named Former Kowloon-Canton Railway Clock Tower (traditional Chinese: å‰ä¹å»£éµè·¯é˜æ¨“), it is usually referred to as the Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower (traditional Chinese: å°–æ²™å’€é˜æ¨“) for its location. Built out of red bricks and granite, the Clock Tower peaks at 44 metres, and is topped by a 7-metre lightning rod. The top of the tower can be reached by a wooden staircase located within. The interior of Clock Tower had previously been open for visit, but is currently closed for maintenance. The clock tower is located near Victoria Harbour at the foot of Salisbury Road. Another landmark, the Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry Pier, is located nearby. The tower has been listed as a declared monument in Hong Kong since 1990.

Description: The Treasury Building, at the corner of George and Queen Streets, was erected in three stages between 1886 and 1928. In 1883 a design competition for a two-storeyed building was won by Melbourne architects Grainger and D'Ebro. However this design was never used as the Queensland Colonial Architect, John James Clark, argued that the site warranted a four-storeyed complex. Clark's own design, entered in the competition prior to his appointment, was used. When completed in September 1889, the new building was occupied by the Premier, Colonial secretary, Registrar-General, Treasury, Mines, Works, Police and Auditor-General.

Stage two which completed the Elizabeth Street section was commenced almost immediately and was completed by February 1893. This new wing was occupied by the Registrar of Titles, Justice, Works, Public Instruction and the State Savings Bank. Work on the third state commenced in 1922 and officially opened in 1928, providing expanded accommodation for the existing tenants. The building is now home to an international casino and restaurants.

The Pacific Crest Trail, officially designated as the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail (PCT) is a long-distance hiking and equestrian trail closely aligned with the highest portion of the Sierra Nevada and Cascade mountain ranges, which lie 100 to 150 miles (160 to 240 km) east of the U.S. Pacific coast. The trail's southern terminus is on the U.S. border with Mexico, just south of Campo, California, and its northern terminus on the Canadaâ€“US border on the edge of Manning Park in British Columbia; its corridor through the U.S. is in the states of California, Oregon, and Washington. The Pacific Crest Trail is 2,653 mi (4,270 km) long and ranges in elevation from just above sea level at the Oregonâ€“Washington border to 13,153 feet (4,009 m) at Forester Pass in the Sierra Nevada. The route passes through 25 national forests and 7 national parks. Its midpoint is near Chester, California (near Mt. Lassen), where the Sierra and Cascade mountain ranges meet.
