Fossil Springs Wilderness: Springs Area

Fossil Creek is one of two Arizona streams protected by the National Wild and Scenic Act. The Irving Power Plant, and associated dirversion dam and flumes, were decommissioned and much of the structures removed, allowing the creek to flow freely and the area begin to return to a more natural state. The creek is primarily fed by Fossil Springs, which produces approximately 28 million gallons of water per day.
