The Fowler Traction Engine

John Fowler & Co. (Leeds) Ltd were engineers of Leathley Road, Hunslet, Leeds, in West Yorkshire, England who were founded in 1863 by Agricultural engineer John Fowler. Fowler & Co produced traction engines and ploughing implements and equipment, as well as railway equipment. Fowler & Co also produced the early Track Marshall tractor which was a tracked version of the Field Marshall tractor. British Railways Engineering Department locomotives ED1 to ED7 were built by Fowler & Co.
