Red-eared sliders
(Trachemys scripta elegans). They are beautiful but a real nightmare for the european species of turtles. This species native to Florida was imported to Europe to be kept as pets, only when they got too big to be kept the owners would release them in the wild. they are now taking over the habitats of native species in Europe, who are disapearing quickly... /This series of pictures were taken during my stay at home in Barcelona.
