Yellow-Crowned Night Heron

A Yellow-Crowned Night Heron perched on top the rock wall jetty of the Playa Del Sol Costa Sur Hotel lagoon in the morning hours next to the Pacific Ocean at Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Yellow-crowned Night Heron, Nycticorax violaceus or Nyctanassa violacea, is a smaller heron, similar in appearance to the Black-crowned Night Heron.
