Arrival of President Poincare at Le Quesnoy

Arrival of President Raymond Poincare of France (right of centre) in Le Quesnoy. Photograph taken 10 November 1918 by Henry Armytage Sanders. Inscriptions: Inscribed - Photographer's title on negative -bottom left: H1237. The President was accompanied by the Prefect of the Department of the North, and the local member of Parliament. The visit marked France symbolically taking posession of the town liberated by foreign troops. It was also the first time that a President of France had visited Le Quesnoy.
