She-wolf And Twins Of Siena

She-wolf and twins of Siena

A legend says that Siena was founded by Senio and Aschio, sons of Remus. They fled from Rome, after having stolen the statue of the She-wolf in the temple of Apollo: Senio riding a white horse, while he was riding a black Aschio. The two brothers came to settle in the Tuscan hills, and here they founded the city that took its name from Senio.
