If you are looking for a restaurant of great quality where real Venetians go, try Ostaria al Vecio Pozzo in Via Santa Croce, 656. It has one of the best ratings in Trip Advisor. We were in Venice end of May 2010 for 4 nights and on our first night the manager of a shop in Venice recommended Osteria al Vecio Pozzo which was about 5 minutes walk from our hotel. This is a small restaurant which specialises in fish, meat and pizza. The meal we had was absolutely superb. Excellent basic italian dishes and a good wine list. We went there all four nights in our four day trip to Venice. We found the price of our meals here very good for Venice. We were served on all nights by a lovely young waitress who couldn't have done enough for the customers. When we were leaving we got to meet the Chef Alessandro whom we congratulated on the excellent food. www.veciopozzo.it/
