Miniscribe 2012 10 MB hard drive

This is the first hard disk I owned that is now a paper weight that I keep on my desk. It's a 10 MB (not GB) Miniscribe model 2012 hard drive from 1983 that couldn't even hold the raw file that this image is made from. One of the four read/write heads has gotten bent out of shape in the decades that it's been sitting around without its cover. That's a typical 16 GB USB flash drive beside it for comparison. I used a couple of white cards as the base and backdrop for this picture then used Photoshop to remove the seam where they meet. It's illuminated by natural light in my kitchen.
