Bore right through mighty sandstone, using primitive 19th century tools, this mountain tunnel stands as a monument to the human will and spirit as well as back-breaking effort. Crisp air at high altitudes did not stop the pines from adorning this passage as the red clay road bed allowed us to pass through.
