This Zhuang ethnic minority village is located high in the Longji mountains. These rice terraces were constructed by the Zhuang minority people to make their mountainous land arable. With construction beginning in the Yuan dynasty (1271-1368) and lasting over 400 years, the Dragon's Backbone rice terraces now cover over 16,000 acres.
