Paved Street With Old Houses In Sighisoara

Paved street with old houses in Sighisoara

Sighisoara is the best preserved and one of the still inhabitated medieval fortresses in Europe. It is located on a hill and surrounded by thick walls and fortifications. Sighisoara is also the birth place of Vlad the Impaler, identified as being the historical figure which inspired the character Dracula by the Irish writer Bram Stoker. The Puppet Clock Tower is now a museum, but it used to be the main gate into the fortress.
