Puppet Tower - Sighisoara - Romania

Sighisoara is the best preserved medieval fortress in Europe. On a hill, surrounded by thick walls and fortifications, old Sighisoara area houses many museums, hotels, restaurants, churches and schools even. Sighisoara is also the birth place of Vlad the Impeller, identified as being the historical figure which inspired the character Dracula by the Irish writer Bram Stoker. (You can find his father’s house on the narrow streets of the citadel, right about where this picture was taken from). Puppets tower is now a museum, but it used to be the main gate into the fortress.
