Casina Vanvitelliana

Carlo Vanvitelli in 1782 at the behest of Ferdinand IV of Bourbon, builds on an island on Lake Fusaro, this casino for real hunting and fishing. The building is a polygonal composed of three octagonal that intersect each other at the top, creating a concave-convex geometry of shapes, terraces, views and suggestive glazed perspectives. The building is on two levels. Downstairs, organized around a central hall, two ambulatory placed one north and one south, make the plan more extensive than the upper. The latter is in fact smaller and has four terraces corresponding to the roofs of porches on the lower floor walkers. Host of celebrities and historical figures such as Mozart, Rossini, Tsar of Russia, Vittorio Emanuele III and President Luigi Einaudi, who stayed at this house. A wooden bridge links the cottage to the shore of the lake whose perimeter is surrounded by a platform built with blocks of stones from Vesuvius
