Over six thousand prisoners from the Boer War in South Africa were detained on St Helena Island between 1900 and 1902. This is the Boer cemetery located on the steep side of a valley deep in the countryside district of Knollcombes on St Helena, final resting place of those prisoners who died on island during that time.
