Barroque

The shrine of Our Lady of Mercy in the top of the Piedade hill. Represents in an important milestone and religious landscape of Brazil. Its history dates back to the beginning of the occupation of that area in the late seventeenth century to the early eighteenth century. It's heritage Site registrated by the strong representative barroque architecture style with several works of Mr.Antonio Francisco Lisboa (better known as Master Alejadinho) one of the greatest masters of the brazilian baroque period. It's a 1750m (5750 feet) tall hill.
