This town of historic monuments, schools, arts and culture is called The Athens of Haná. It is sought after by visitors especially for the richness of its monuments. Kroměříž was proclaimed the most beautiful historic town of the Czech Republic in 1997. In December 1998, the two historic gardens and the Archbishopric Château were enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
