University of Évora I

The University of Évora was the second university to be established in Portugal. After the foundation of the University of Coimbra, in 1537, a solemn inauguration elapsed in day 1 of November of 1559. Cardinal D. Enrique started for establishing the College of the Espirito Santo( image), trusting it it then recently established Company of Jesus
