Church of the Exhaltation of the Cross

Yuriev Monastery is one of the oldest functioning Russian monastery with St. George Cathedral of the 12th century, famous for its unique acoustics. It stands south of Novgorod the Great on the left bank of the Volkhov River near where it flows out of Lake Ilmen.
