The Pale Chanting Goshawk (Melierax canorus) is near-endemic to southern Africa, occurring from south-western Angola through Namibia and Botswana to the western half of South Africa. It generally prefers the Kalahari woodland, Acacia thornveld and riverine woodland in the Namib Desert (Kalahari desert, South Africa / Botswana).
