The Pale Chanting Goshawk (Melierax canorus) is near-endemic to southern Africa, occurring from south-western Angola through Namibia and Botswana to the western half of South Africa. It generally prefers the Kalahari woodland, Acacia thornveld (Kalahari desert, South Africa / Botswana).
